1. Climate Justice and Environmental Stewardship
Climate change disproportionately affects marginalized communities and young people in Uganda. DDAMU empowers youth to become climate leaders through education, advocacy, and hands-on projects such as tree planting, sustainable agriculture, and renewable energy promotion. We focus on building resilience to climate shocks while pushing for policies that prioritize environmental justice.
2. Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR)
We promote comprehensive SRHR education and services, particularly among adolescents and young women. Our youth-friendly clubs and peer education programs break down stigma, provide accurate information, and encourage healthy decision-making. By fostering open dialogue, we help young people claim their rights to bodily autonomy and equitable healthcare.
3. Mental Health Awareness and Support
Recognizing mental health as a fundamental component of wellbeing, DDAMU works to destigmatize mental illness and expand access to psychosocial support. Through community forums, counseling services, and youth-led awareness campaigns, we create safe spaces for emotional expression and healing.
4. Gender Equity and Social Inclusion
Our gender equity initiatives challenge harmful norms and empower women and marginalized groups to take leadership roles in their communities. We engage boys and men as allies, provide mentorship for girls, and advocate for policies that promote equal opportunities and rights.
